Sadda Haq...aithe rakh !!

Disclaimer: The views are against government policies and should not be taken on personal ground.
Based on the reservation status in our country, I think one had done biggest mistake in life if he/she is born to a general caste family as all other people are secured under their respective quota (SC, ST, OBC, etc. just to name a few) but there is no one to look after the general caste people. Where is the quota for general caste people???? By this they have become the most neglected part of the society despite of the fact that they contribute maximum to the society, Aren’t they??? Politicians say that people falling in the backward or minority section are getting tough competition from the general caste people and so their interest should be safeguarded but they don’t give a heed to the fact that in order of safeguarding the interest of so called backward class or minority people they are actually exploiting the interest of general caste people as if they had committed some crime by taking birth in a family falling in general caste?? Wherever one goes from taking admission in good academic institution to getting a job in some good firms (be it a PSU or a private sector company), these quota system is omnipresent. A person securing badly throughout his career is sure of bagging a great job but a person having a fairly bright career is not, why… just because the former belongs to category?? They get jobs in some good PSU’s so easily which other people can’t even dream of just because they fall in general category. I don’t understand how government claims that they are safeguarding the interest of the people, aren’t they biased???

Though I am not a historian, but as far as I know upon independence the people falling in certain caste were called backward caste or minority as they were deprived off their basic facilities during British’s reign and they were not at par with other people, so brig them to the main line reservation was given to them for a period of 10 year so that they could also gain the same respect in the society as others do….but these politicians don’t dare to call it off just for the sake of their vote bank. Politicians, since then have use this as a method to increase their vote bank and as election approaches they plan to amuse the people (by fooling them) by taking them in confidence of giving kind of reservation or others, as they know very well that they have not done anything worthwhile during their tenure that people will reelect them. And once they get reelected, they again do nothing for the upliftment of that section of the society and would come again with same topic of reservation in their next election manifesto. By giving reservation they actually urge those people that they don’t need to try and work hard and compete with the people as they will be spoon-feeded every time by the government. I know persons not willing to learn things just because they are in category and hence are sure of getting admission in good colleges, getting good job in PSU’s despite being incompetent for the post.
I think in today’s scenario, sticking with the old definition of deprived section is not correct…. As now those many people who claim to fall in such categories enjoy the life in a better way than those in general category. In my opinion, now the definition of deprived class should be changed and rather should be defined on basis of people who lives in rural areas and are deprived of basic amenities (are poor). If government gives reservation to those students in rural areas who despite being extremely talented cannot compete with other people as they are not exposed to such facilities then it could have made some sense.
If the trends continue, the day is not far behind when people from general caste will have to come forward to safeguard their interest from the biased government.
